A popular indica-leaning hybrid, Bubba Kush is mostly known for its seriously tranquil high, along with its sweet hashish taste. Its exact genetic lineage is something of a mystery, though many believe it is the result of crossing OG Kush and Afghan. Typically, it has a high THC content, ranging from 16% to 24%.

Bubba Kush is a relatively easy-to-grow strain that can produce great results even for newer growers, in most environments. It is a great choice for outdoors as it is particularly resistant to mold, mildew and pests, where yields of around 600-800g/plant are ready to harvest in early October. Indoors, this strain grows very well in soil but seems to have greater success in a hydroponic set-up; it flowers in about 8-9 weeks and produces yields of around 500-550g/m2.

This strain has a stocky, bushy structure and produces medium-sized dense buds that are rich in sticky resinous trichomes making it a great option for production of hash, concentrates, and extractions. The dark green leaves are sometimes broken up shades or purple if the plants have been exposed to cooler temperatures during growing.

The aroma of Bubba Kush has hints of coffee and chocolate, along with some sweet yet earthy, hash tones; some breeders have even reported a slight fruitiness. Taste-wise, this strain has a sweet yet peppery quality, especially when exhaled. It can also be fairly pungent when smoked, so it may not make a great option for stealth smokers.

Despite being an indica-heavy strain, the effects are very heady and cerebral. After an initial head fog, the high morphs into a more classic physically relaxing body stone that can be expected from an indica-dominant strain. Even though it is a heavy stone, most smokers can still function and focus where needed and don’t often find themselves with a case of couch-lock.

As the effects are both mental and physical, medical marijuna patients have found Bubba Kush to be a great ally when it comes to tackling a range of ailments.
